Dogs help the people of Mozambique

Case Study Teacher's Notes

  1. Find landmine affected areas on a map and discuss what has been happening in the types of countries where they are found.

     

  2. Locate Mozambique and research the ways of life of people in rural areas.

     

  3. Read the case study, Dogs help the people of Mozambique.

     

  4. Make a chart with three columns. In the first column list the places where landmines are put. In the second column, next to each place list the effect of having a landmine there. In the third column list the benefits of having the landmines removed.


  5. Prepare questions to ask the visitor/s about how they train and care for their dog and how they benefit from having the dog.

     

  6. Make posters showing why there should be a worldwide ban on landmines.
