Farmers facing poverty - the success of the San Agustin Farmers: Philippines
- Use reference material including atlases and encylopaedia to describe the location and geography of San Agustin. Refer to its site, situation, climate and topography. Use the resources section to help you;
- List ten reasons which explain why San Agustin was selected as the recipient of SAIALP. Categorise your responses as economic, social, political or environmental factors;
- Briefly describe the purpose of the San Agustin Farmers Association. How did they respond to the living conditions that existed in their community prior to 1994?;
- Draw a simple chart which clearly demonstrates the links between the following groups involved in San Agustin. Refer to SAGUFA, SAIALP, AusAid, PACAP, SWCF. Explain why these groups provide a good example of bilateral development aid at work;
- Use a concept map to describe the living conditions in San Agustin prior to 1994;
