Values Learning Quests
Beyond The Fire, introduces the real life stories of 15 teenagers, now living in the U.S., who have survived war in seven war zones. These stories tell of loss, hope, fear, strength and despair and resilience. Aimed at a teen audience, this highly interactive site is designed with educators in mind. The site creates an innovative forum on issues of war, geography, history and human rights. By combining lesson plans with online learning and a community forum, the site sparks dialogue that can take place within the classroom and beyond. Wars include: Afghanistan, Iraq, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Bosnia and Kosovo. |
