The Centre for Recording Achievement (CRA) is a UK national network organisation and a registered educational charity. It seeks to "promote the awareness of recording achievement and action planning processes as an important element in improving learning and progression throughout the world of education, training and employment". CRA is an Associate Centre of the Higher Education Academy and offers a range of services to higher education institutions and their communities aimed at supporting the implementation of Progress Files, Personal Development Planning and e-portfolios. The site contains a number of documents on e-learning and e-portfolios.

ePEARL is a free, bilingual, web-based electronic portfolio software developed in Quebec, Canada for younger students. ePEARL promotes: goal Setting: creating general learning goals for a term or year, as well as task goals for a specific artifact; reflection on the process and finished product; and feedback from peers, parents and teachers on the portfolio as a whole or on a specific artifact. There are 3 levels available: Level one for beginning readers, Level 2 is for students in years 3-6, and Level 3 for secondary school students.

The purpose of this report was to discuss the place and use of electronic portfolios, ePortfolios, within the context of New Zealand schools, particularly the early primary years to senior secondary colleges. The researchers explored the varied technical issues facing the schools and formed an understanding for a set of requirements and criteria for ePortfolio implementation. Common themes developed and the focus for the purpose and process of using ePortfolios was on understandings, purpose, teacher capability, ownership and duty of care. Five case studies of ePortfolio implementation in schools are attached.

Mahara is designed to provide users with the tools to demonstrate their life-long learning, skills and development over time to selected audiences. Established in 2006, Mahara is the result of a collaborative venture funded by New Zealand's Tertiary Education Commission's e-learning Collaborative Development Fund (eCDF), involving Massey University, Auckland University of Technology, The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand and Victoria University of Wellington.
