Australian Scholarships is an Australian Government initiative focussed on scholarship opportunities in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Australian Scholarships includes scholarship programmes managed by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST): Australian Development Scholarship (ADS); Australian Leadership Awards (ALA); and the Endeavour Programme.

Founded in 1993 by Australian Vice Chancellors Committe as a voluntary association of government and non-government representatives of the higher education (university) sector in the Asia and the Pacific region. UMAP aims to achieve enhanced international understanding through increased mobility of university students and staff. A number of principles guide the UMAP exchange programs. These include the participation of student in formal study, the waive of tuition fees by hosting institutions, credit for study while on an exchange program will be accepted by the home university and both post-graduate and undergraduate students can participate in UMAP.
