The Assistance for Isolated Children (AIC) Scheme helps if a family has a primary, secondary or under 16 year old tertiary student who cannot go to an appropriate government school because of living too far away. The Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts supports current Indigenous Australian students at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. The Wilin Centre identifies and recruits potential and practicing Indigenous artists to study and hone their skills through the Faculty of the VCA and Music's world-class arts training programs. It educates students, staff and the public to recognise and engage with diverse Indigenous arts, artists and communities. Wilin, 'fire' in the Eastern Kulin Nation language Woi Wurrung represents the continuous spirit and living culture respected and shared by elders, alumni, staff, students and supporters alike.
