The Indigenous Aerospace Initiative (IAI) 'Aiming High' was established by the Western Australian Department of Education and Training as an aspirational program to provide opportunities for Aboriginal students to undertake pilot training and enter the Australian aviation industry. The one year program offers scholarships to complete an integrated course in Aeronautical Studies and undertake flying training. The program consists of practical as well as theoretical components that will allow students to gain an in-depth knowledge of the Australian aviation industry and provide a springboard into an exciting and rewarding new career.

The Indigenous Youth Mobility Programme (IYMP) provides young people from remote Australia with training and employment opportunities in major centres. The IYMP services are: training and employment services; safe and supported accommodation (delivered through Aboriginal Hostels Limited); and additional mentor support. The programme will incude new apprenticeships and some tertiary pathways including nursing, teaching, accounting and business management.
