The Australian Scholarships Group is a unique not-for-profit co-operative of parents established in 1974. It provides educational benefits designed to encourage children to gain a complete education. Its programs assist children through the arduous years of secondary education and provide educational grants, scholarship allowances or fee assistance to students who undertake full-time post-secondary or tertiary courses. In addition ASC has a Professional development and Training Grant Scheme.

The ACCE values the efforts of educators at all levels of the Australian educational community, and in conjunction with the Australian Computer Society (ACS), has established two awards to recognise the contribution of individual educators to the advocacy of ICT in Education. These two awards are: ACCE Educator of the Year, and the ACCE Award for Outstanding Leadership in Use of ICT in Education. Each state member association has the opportunity to nominate educators for the awards, and their nominees will usually be the recipients of state awards.

The BHP Billiton Science Awards are Australia's most prestigious science awards for students and teachers, rewarding excellence in the teaching and study of science. The student awards are open to all Australian permanent residents enrolled full-time in primary or secondary schools in Australia (including home-schooled) or undertaking full-time secondary study in TAFE colleges. The BHP Science Teacher Awards reward excellence in the development and delivery of science programs. Excellence in teaching may be demonstrated in a range of curricular, administrative and geographical environments. The awards are intended to highlight this diversity of excellence rather than restrict it.

The winning schools are determined by a panel of Indigenous and non-Indigenous educators which assesses each school's application against set criteria.
