This is an online course prepared by the East Asian Curriculum Project at Columbia University. It is designed as a resource site for teachers of history, geography and culture. It provides background information and curriculum materials relevant to teaching about East Asia, including primary source documents for students. The material is arranged in 14 topic sections which follow the US National Standards in World History. Each topic section includes: key points to consider, curriculum materials for the classroom, textbook references for teachers to consult, and video support resources for teacher background.

This resource from Paul Halsall, located at the Fordham University History Department, collates an enormous number of original texts, images and maps related to the history of China, Japan and Korea, from the earliest times to the present. The range of coverage is extensive, from cultural origins, to religious traditions, Western intrusion into East Asia, modernisation and so on. Texts include translations of classics such as the I Ching and Sun Zi's Art of War, constitutions, contemporary writings in letters, journal publications and official documents, important legislation and other significant resources.
