The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is responsible for providing the Australian people with an independent electoral service which meets their needs and encourages them to understand and participate in the electoral process. The Electoral Education section of the AEC provides educational services. These include, school excursions to the Electoral Education Centres located in Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide. School and community visits are conducted by AEC divisional staff. Teacher professional development courses explore strategies for teaching electoral education. Electoral education resources are available free of charge. |
