Putting a Global Perspective into Educational Practice This program of study is a fifteen-hour professional development program to introduce teachers to the concepts and teaching of global education, developed by the Global Education Project, Victoria. It is available as a CD-ROM and content will also be accessible from this website late in 2005. Teachers can work through the program on their own, join the Global Education Project mailing list to interact with other course members or have responses to the tasks read by a mentor and receive a certificate of completion for a fee of $50. In Part A teachers explore the concepts of global education and general teaching tools. In Part B the global issue 'Poverty reduction' introduces teachers to a number of teaching and learning activities which are relevant to secondary classrooms. There are some useful resources such as the Drag and drop - Poverty Quiz and Cycle of Poverty and short video clips highlighting the relationship of urbanisation, health and landmines to poverty.
