Girl Effect
URL:  http://www.girleffect.org/question

The Girl Effect is a shared mission to create opportunities for girls and for the world. Little research has been done to understand how investments in girls impact economic growth and the health and well-being of communities. This lack of data reveals how pervasively girls have been overlooked. For millions of girls across the developing world, there are no systems to record their birth, their citizenship, or even their identity. However, the existing research suggests their impact can reach much farther than expected.

The first sample study presented is the Solomon Islands, where 80% of the people are agriculturalists living traditional village lives. Women's health and education are important issues here. The second sample study focuses on Vietnam, and looks at poverty in an agricultural community. Women and their work are examined in both countries, with a Palau study providing some contrasts.
