Using Quiz builder in the classroom

What can I do with Quiz builder?

Quiz builder enables you to publish quizzes for use by your students.

Quiz builder allows you to develop a quiz of True/False or multiple choice questions and provide a response for each answer to help broaden student's understanding of the selected topic.

Quizzes you create are restricted to use by your own students by use of a unique quiz identification code which you supply to them.

Quizzes can also be made public for any Global Education site visitor to access.
If you would like your quiz to be selected for addition to the public list of Global Education quizzes, there is an option to submit the quiz for consideration.

All quizzes submitted to Global Education will be forwarded to site administrators before going live.

How do I use a quiz in the classroom?

You might use your quiz to:

  • Introduce a topic
  • Lead students to questions for further investigation
  • Test student's knowledge and comprehension
  • Customise materials to fit your curriculum and suit your students

Students might write their own quiz to display their knowledge and challenge other students.

How do I write an educationally sound quiz?

  • Be clear about the information to be included in the quiz.

  • Make sure that the question can be answered using the student's current level of knowledge and experience.

  • Write all questions in a similar format so there is less confusion.

  • Make sure there is only one right answer or that instructions make it clear that there can be more than one answer.

  • Write plausible 'wrong' answers - these could be common mistakes students might make. Students then can carefully think through their reasoning to come up with the correct answer.

  • Write detailed feedback

    • For incorrect answers
Provide feedback which helps students understand their mistake and develop true understanding and comprehension.

    • For correct answers
Provide feedback which helps students check they have truly understood the answer (and not just had a lucky guess).
