Microfinance teaching activities

  • Credit where credit is due (UP)  : Students develop an understanding of the role of microcredit in helping people overcome poverty.
  • Microcredit (LS)  : Students critically evaluate how microcredit addresses poverty.
  • Microenterprise (LS)  : Students examine some of the positive and negative effects of running a microenterprise.
  • Microenterprise in the Philippines (U/Sec)  : Students understand some of the factors which affect resource use and employment opportunities in the Philippines.
  • Microfinance Learning Quest  : Students understand how small loans can be managed to assist poor people improve their lives
  • Obtaining a loan (LS)  : Students investigate and compare the implications of different terms and conditions for obtaining and repaying loans.
  • Setting up a small business (U/Sec)  : Students examine examples of microenterprise development in the Philippines, and compare these with the process of setting up a small business in Australia.
