Gender equality teaching activities

  • All in a day's work (UP)  :  Students will investigate the work done by men and women to explore the influences of gender
  • Gender equality (U/Sec)  : Students will examine levels of gender equality in selected countries and suggest means of overcoming identified barriers
  • Is a farmer a man? (LP/MP)  : Students will examine their concepts of farmers and how men and women contribute to food production
  • Literacy rates and gender (U/Sec)  : Students will analyse statistics to compare the life situations of people in East Timor (Timor-Leste) and Australia.
  • Who does what? (LS)  :  Students will analyse how gender contributes to the nature of work performed by women and men
  • Women in fisheries (U/Sec)  : Students will investigate the causes and consequences of women’s limited participation in the fisheries industry
  • Words into action (U/Sec)  : Students will learn how the lives of women in rural East Timor have been improved through literacy education.
