International Polar Year teaching activities

  • Antarctic Dad (MP)  : Students will explore how people separated from their families keep in touch them
  • Getting to know the polar regions (LS)  : Students will investigate the geography of the polar regions and how it interacts with their own life
  • Life in Antarctica (MP/UP)  : Students will research energy use by different countries and compare their impact on the environment.
  • Melting ice (UP)  : Students will investigate how melting ice contributes to sea level changes
  • Sea level rising in South Pacific (U/Sec)  : Students will investigate the complexity of gathering accurate records about sea level changes and how the information is used to assist people living in the Pacific.
