Multilateral aid - Investigation and presentation

Year level: Upper secondary

Learning outcomes

Students investigate the various multilateral organisations providing aid and how these relate to the Australian aid program

Make a list of multilateral organisations which the Australian Government supports based on http://www.ausaid.gov.au.

Investigate one of these in a small group.

  • What are the key guiding factors for this organisation?
  • How does the organisation assist the development of project countries? (provide examples)
  • How does Australia contribute to this organisation?
  • How do the objectives of the organisation correspond to the objectives of the Australian aid program?

Present your findings using PowerPoint.

Assessment task

Create a Venn diagram to highlight the similarities and differences between the Australian Government's aid program and the programs of the multilateral organisation investigated.
