Grievance Procedure
1. Overview
This policy applies to all Quiz builder users, quiz creators, and administrators
of the Quiz builder tool on the AusAID Global Education website at:
http://www.globaleducation.edna.edu.au/globaled/quiz
This policy should be read in conjunction with the related AusAID Website Legal
Information page http://www.ausaid.gov.au/legal/
The AusAID Global Education website is managed by education.au limited, a not-for-profit
company owned by the state, territory and Australian government ministries of
education.
1.1 Purpose of the Quiz builder tool
The Global Education Website is initiated and funded by AusAID to support its
Global Education Program.
The objective of the Global Education Website is to increase the amount and
quality of teaching of global education in Australian primary and secondary
schools.
The strategy of the project is to provide an internet site and curriculum material
that is of high professional standard, is attractive, teacher friendly and accessible.
The Quiz builder tool is designed to support teachers in their teaching of
global education, by providing an authoring tool to enable teachers to construct
interactive true and false/multiple choice quizzes.
1.2 Obligation of Service Users
When using the Quiz builder tool, users must comply with applicable laws, regulations
and industry codes which include, but are not limited to, the Privacy Act 1988
and subsequent amendments, the Copyright Act 1968, and the Broadcasting Services
Amendment (Online Services) Act 1999.
1.3 Rights of AusAID
AusAID or its delegate, education.au, may suspend or terminate
a user's permissions and/or access to the Quiz builder tool at any time if users
do not comply with law or with the Quiz builder policies.
AusAID or its delegate reserves the right to immediately remove without consultation
any quiz content deemed as not complying with the law or with usage policies.
For the purposes of administering a grievance, AusAID or its delegate may delete
or disclose to the people responsible for considering the grievance (see 2.3
below), content of quizzes created with the Quiz builder tool.
1.4 Privacy
User names and email addresses are made available to Global Education site
administrators to enable them to manage the Quiz builder tool.
Neither AusAID or its delegate will release lists of, or identifying information
about, registered Quiz builder users to third parties, other than appropriate
members of the Global Education site's management or development team, and Quiz
builder administrators, except where required to as part of a grievance investigation
or as a legal requirement.

2. Quiz builder Policy
2.1 Conditions of Use
The Quiz builder tool is in the public domain for the use and benefit of members
of the Australian education and training community. The Australian government,
through AusAID has funded the development and implementation of Quiz builder
tool on the Global Education website.
- All members of the education and training community are invited to make
use of the tool provided they adhere to the Quiz builder terms of use. The
Quiz builder is to be used only for education and training purposes;
- The Quiz Builder is free to use;
- All quizzes made public on the website can be used without restriction by
other users of the Global Education website or used by AusAID for any other
purpose;
- Quiz content must comply with this policy;
- Content that does not comply with this policy may be removed without notice;
- AusAID makes no warrant about the permanence of the quizzes created and
the Quiz builder may be removed or discontinued or made unavailable at any
time without notice;
- Quiz builder content is moderated by the Global Education website administrator;
- Quiz builder administrators may be refused permission to log on to the Quiz
builder at any time without notice;
- From time to time access to the Global Education website may be interrupted
because of problems with the Internet or because of routine maintenance.
- Administrators have the right to ask a contributor to modify material or
exclude material from a quiz. Administrators have the right to exclude individuals
from use of the Quiz builder tool if they believe the policy has been or will
be breached;
- Quizzes may be public or private. All quizzes must comply with this policy.
Use of the Quiz Builder will:
- Make a positive contribution to education and training;
- Foster constructive exchanges.
Content of quizzes created using the Quiz builder will not:
- Infringe existing Australian Commonwealth or state laws;
- Use obscene language;
- Harass, insult or attack others;
- Be defamatory;
- Involve or advocate illegal or criminal activities;
- Interfere with, restrict or inhibit the enjoyment or use by other users
of the Quiz builder;
- Infringe human rights;
- Violate copyright laws or infringe the intellectual property of others;
- Display or link to offensive and/or pornographic material;
- Harm or negatively impact users of the services;
- Condone or incite violence;
- Portray persons or communities in a demeaning manner.

2.2 Content of Global Education Public Quizzes
The Global Education website supports the AusAID Global Education Program which
aims to raise awareness and understanding among Australian school students of
international issues, development and poverty, and to prepare them to live in
an increasingly globalised world and to be active citizens shaping better futures.
Public quizzes are provided on the Global Education website to give teachers
an opportunity to view other teacher created quizzes before they create their
own.
Teachers who have created and tested a quiz which they believe would be useful
to other users of the Global Education website are welcome to submit their quiz
for consideration as a publicly accessible quiz. Public quizzes will be moderated
by the Global Education website administrator with final content approval by
AusAID staff.

2.3 Grievance Procedures
If you have a grievance about how Quiz builder content is or has been moderated
or administered, the Grievance Procedure is as follows:
- Discuss your grievance with the Administrator of the Global education Quiz
builder via email at globaleducation@edna.edu.au, outlining your grounds for
complaint as they relate to this policy;
- The Administrator may then seek advice from AusAID;
- If the matter is not resolved and you wish to pursue it further, the grievance
should be forwarded in writing to the Manager, Global Education Website, AusAID,
GPO Box 887 Canberra ACT 2601, Australia;
- The Manager, AusAID, or their delegate will establish within 7 days, and
in consultation with stakeholder groups, a group of three educators of good
reputation to consider your grievance;
- The group will consider and rule on the grievance in relation to the policy
- The Manager, AusAID, or their delegate will then inform the parties of the
group's ruling.

2.4 Data Collection and Usage
Data collected about users of the Quiz builder tool is collected by education.au
for the purposes of:
- Ensuring the effective management of the Quiz builder tool;
- Determining usage patterns in order to improve the service or develop new
services;
- To meet reporting requirements to support the continuation of the service
Data regarding participation from various sectors and locations is used in
aggregated form to determine usage patterns and to improve the development of
services.
education.au does not provide data about individuals or organisations to any
external party.
