This strategy highlights the concept of interdependence and helps students discover the endless and varied ways that things are connected to each other. A topic is written in the centre of the page. Key words related to the topic are written around it. Lines connect the key words to the topic and a phrase which links the word to the centre topic can be added. The more key words that students develop and the more complex the connecting lines, the more the concept of interdependence is emphasised visually. Students’ illustrations can be added to the concept map.
