In simulation games the whole class becomes involved through taking on character roles. It is a stimulating way for students to learn to appreciate parallel experiences. A most important part of the process is the debriefing discussion after the game play. During this time, students make a clear transition away from their character and back to themselves and then discuss the feelings evoked through the play.
